If You Smell Gas
It is important to know what to do if you smell gas. Gas is highly flammable and if there is a gas leak in your home then there is the danger of an explosion. If you smell gas:

1) Do not ignite any naked flame (light a cigarette, strike a match, light the hob, etc). Any that are already lit should be immediately put out.

2) Do not turn on or off any electrical devices (including light switches) as any spark from them could ignite the gas.

3) Turn off the gas supply at the mains tap (situated near the meter).

4) Open all the doors and windows to let the gas escape.

5) Get everyone out of the building, check that everyone is safe.
